Alberta Health Minister Ron Liepert commenting on recent cuts to Alberta seniors medical coverage:
Ken Moghadam, a Calgary orthotist responding to the comment and cuts:
"Dammit, if you lived in this province for 65 or 70 years, you have built this province. You have created this province. There is a sense of entitlement.
You're damn right they do.
UPDATE: Apparently the provincial government is backing down from their proposed cuts to seniors' prosthetic coverage.

Maybe we Albertans should be asking Alberta Conservatives exactly what is their philosophy. From this seniors perspective, 38 years of Conservative philosphy seem to find it chameleon in nature, unabashedly changing to the required color of the day, without principle, without integrity.
Don't worry - they'll just blame it on "damned Liberals" and all the seniors will be happy, and the recession will end, and 10 years will magically be added to every senior's life, and the snows will melt, and the Conservatives will get voted back with an even BIGGER majority.
Such is the way in the fabled land of Alberta, where politicians are immune to criticism - it actually makes them stronger.
